The Grillin Fools went down to the dome downtown St. Louis for the Mizzou/Illinois border war game on September 5th. We hauled down four grills, 15 slabs of ribs, 20 pounds of chicken, five fatties, close to 300 bacon wrapped stuffed peppers, and enough ingredients for about 100 crostinis. I realize that doesn’t really make [...]

In July the Grillin Fools and 30 of our relatives went up to Michigan:
It wasn’t all sunsets, swans and salmon. Of course we did some grillin, chillin, and thrillin:
We may not have had much to work with (wait to you see the grills) but we still put out a mean product. And if we can [...]

I did Chicken Fajitas/Quesadillas in the past but I decided to kick them up a bit with some beef in the form of some flank steak, some blackened peppers, and a Caribbean marinade.
This dish has a lot of components to it but once you get the process down it’s just too easy. This is also [...]

I give those with gas grills a lot of grief. “Why not just haul your stove out onto the deck to grill,” I often say. I make no attempts to hide the fact that I am a charcoal purist, but I understand that some people like the ease and convenience of a gas grill. Other [...]

When most people think of grilling they think of ribs, steak, pulled pork, chicken, etc. The Grillin Fools are very familiar with all of the above and love each and every one of those items on the grill, but sometimes we like to step outside the box and get a little creative. Whether it’s crostinis, [...]

Myself and my fellow Grillin Fools will be asked to cook for large groups quite often over the next few months. My family needs no more than word that the sun is going to rise as an excuse to get together for a family function in the warm months. And with us that means grilling. With Memorial Day a few days away, graduation parties, pool parties, and 4th of July right around the corner we find ourselves cooking for a crowd much more often than in the cooler months.

Most people perusing this site have heard of beer butt or beer can chicken. This is our version: Beer Butt Chicken Stew. One note here, if the idea of using beer is a turn off, simply substitute a can of soda.
The idea behind beer butt chicken is simple enough. Take a [...]

OK, some will argue that these are quesadillas and not fajitas. They look like quesadillas but the ingredients are all fajita. And you know what they say – it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
I love making fajitas. Easy, relatively healthy compared to the bacon wrapped stuff I am normally doing, [...]

This is the first contribution from the newest Grillin Fool, Tom. Tom has been getting a boatload of use out of the mother of all grills – The Big Green Egg – and it seemed only fitting that he join the Grillin Fools family. So click below to see how this island adventure [...]

I have a fresh blanket of about 7 inches of snow on the ground outside. And when it snows the GrillinFool is grilling. Oh, sure we did the whole sledding thing with the baby boy. His first time on a sled. So here we have some gratuitous cute baby pictures. [...]
